WikiMapia is both an online map and a satellite imaging resource. It combines Google Maps with a wiki system. That is, users can add information in the form of notes to locations on Earth.

Walk Score is a site that calculates the walkability of addresses and displays the score on graded color-coded maps. It calculates the score based on the distance of an address to nearby amenities such as convenience stores, restaurants, cafes, theatres, parks and other localities.

A site that aggregates micro-local community data. Began from the mapping mashup Chicagocrime.org. It includes data on many public records such as crime statistics, foreclosures, restaurant inspections, building permits etc. This data is often mapped at the smallest local level.
